Holidays in Nelson, Golden Bay, Abel Tasman (Part 3)

Day 81. Takaka. Wainui. Separation Point.

Our final day together all three of us! We pack up as we stay our last night in a hostel in Takaka.

First we drive to Wainui Falls, an easy hike of 2km leads to the falls, passing over a swingbridge that Coco wanted to cross.

Back at Tata Beach we already passed earlier we go to the Kayak rental. We are advised that the weather is rather rough with lots of wind and then decide to rather not take the kayaks.

Instead we drive back to Wainui, this time hiking the Coastal Track of Abel Tasman to the Separation Point. It’s 8,5km one way and hilly, but very easy to walk especially without my heavy backpack! We have so many beautiful viewpoints, see cormorants and many seals at separation point. The perfect hike!

Back to the hostel, washing clothes while preparing dinner, doing Wi-Fi… Everything needs to be organised, clean and charged before Peggy and I are back on the trail tomorrow!
